(TV) OT: Only Ones "Remains"

Hi all,

A while back, there was a thread on this list about the Only Ones "lost" album,
REMAINS, which seemed to be outtakes and leftovers from around and just after
their 3rd LP.

I got into the Only Ones last summer (thanks to Ray!) and just skipped their
3rd album to get REMAINS this weekend. I'm *really* surprised at how good it is
(like I am by Perrett's solo album), but my CD copy sounds, on most of the
tracks (if not all), like it's copied from vinyl!! Has anyone else noticed
this? Is this the product of a cheap CD reissue, or lack of master tapes?

The CD is on Anagram, a division of Cherry Red Records, London, copyright 1993.
