RE: (TV) Blue Oyster Cult (was 'Rock'sBack pages')

All the punk rock devotees I knew at the time were heavily into (as the
saying went) the Cult. While I think everything after "Agents of Fortune"
sucks more often than it burns, up to that time they were regarded as, well,
kind of evil - having a couple of Cult albums probably meant you were into
tying up and / or whipping girls (the downside being that you ended up with
girls who wanted to be tied up and/or whipped) and generally a SERIOUS
person. About what, I don't know, but SERIOUS. The audiences at the shows I
attended was far more likely to be stokes on meth than herb, and had a heavy
biker contingent (not unlike Mission of Burma back then). Live they were
ferocious - their set ended with ALL the musicians trading fours on guitars,
climaxing with Buck ripping the strings out of his SG to godly, squealing
feedback. And you can't fault their choice of covers - they were doing
"Kick Out the Jams" when the MC5 was considered a bad joke by most people.
