Don't think that's true... I believe the band played on everything but the
first (and perhaps second?) single.

I love McGuinn for a lotta reasons, but Crosby outshone him as a songwriter
(once again, pretend "Mind Gardens" never happened). Even Hillman had a few
really good ones-- and Gene Clark totally ruled the roost for as long as he
held in there ("She Don't Care About Time" is in the running for my favorite
song ever).  That said, my favorite Byrds record as an album is "Notorious
Byrds Brothers", which has precious little Crosby and no Clark at all.

Of course "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" is great for totally different reasons.
