If that 4th Television album [they were almost finished its  
recording??] , then we'll get to hear Tom's great slide work on 
'Persia' which he used in Boston March 2004.

When I went to The Wire's (interviews) Archives a week ago that 
particular interview was not there.

I thought it was obvious that it was a slide. The pitch change is way 
more than it would be with a vibrato arm or string bend, and the 
tonality was very slide-like.  According to the Wire interview, he 
plays slide a lot, but never put it on recordings before now.
