(TV) Tom and synesthesia



Can't remember if I mentioned this before in relation to Tom Verlaine:
synesthesia. It means a subjective sensation or image of a sense other than
the one being stimulated; for example, a "loud colour". The point is that some
people actually perceive things that way. A well known case is the writer
Nabokov who used to see a letter or a word as a particular colour (don't know
how he wrote, or even read, with all the words shimmering on the page in front
of him!). Anyway, for years, Tom's lyrics have made me think he might be
synesthetic, and there are more hints of that in the new album.

Just wondered if it occurred to anyone else...
