(TV) Creating DVD-rs of Almost All Television World Tour Shows

I am beginning a large project to create *separate* DVD-rs of each show of
Television's 2013 World Tour. For each song within each show, I will be
using the best video quality version that is available on YouTube.
(E.g., if for 'Torn Curtain' for Nov. 5, 2013 San Fran there exists a
version in (1920x1080) mp4 (120 MB), and (854x480) mp4 (39 MB), I will
always choose the (1920x1080) mp4 file.)

I am creating the DVD-rs with the freeware "DVD FLICK". It gives me the
option to burn/write the DVD-R at: 22x, 20x, 18x, 16x, 12x, 8x, and 6x.
I will be using one of the best brands (if not the best) of blank DVD-rs
available: Taiyo Yuden 16x Silver Lacquer.

Two questions:

1) Shouldn't I set the burn/write speed to the lowest speed available (in
FLICK's case 6x) for best quality and less chance of error(s)? (And yes I
know a higher quality/larger file, and a slower speed will significantly
increase the time required to create/burn each DVD-r.)

2) I am about to order some more (100) blank Taiyo Yuden Silver Lacquer
DVD-rs. They are available as either 16x or 8x? Which should I buy (or
doesn't it matter since the 16x and 8x are "maximum speeds")?

PS: Other Facts (from NERO's Info Tool): my Drive is:
D:\ Pioneer DVD-RW (DVR - 118L) which supports speeds of:
22x, 20x, 18x, 16x, 12x, 8x, and 6x. And my present Taiyo Yuden Silver
Lacquer 16x blank discs support: 22x, 20x, 18x, 16x, 12x, 8x, and 6x.
