Re: (TV) TV promo pic, from Mike



    Elektra did eventually get their money's worth out of this sketch. As I
told Philip, the label put out a compilation LP which featured TV, Tom
Waits, and about 10 other groups. Each band/artist had a caricature drawn of
them. No not in Taxi cabs, just different images depending on the
band/artist's reputation at the time. Can't quite figure out what they were
trying to say with TV. I like the idea of this sketch, perhaps if the label
took more time to find out what the band were about they could've come up
with a better idea. The only thing I can come up with is that back then it
was not uncommon for groups to show up at CBGB's unloading their equipment
out of the trunk of a taxi cab. M T C
