(TV) Clattering tongues

I've been incommunicado regards the MM list for last month.  Question: How cold and windy does it get in the UK during the first week in April specifically along the coast at Camber Sands?  Not that I really care mind you since I'll be eating 
Toffee-Apple and hot-cross buns.

...those rooms were freezing, My tongue-it clattered like tin.
