Back in '64 the Beatles played Shea Stadium.  The  crowd was mostly
screaming girls.  There was no amplification other than the guitar and 
mic amps they were using for much smaller gigs like TV shows.  It's famous
for being the concert where you couldn't hear the band over the
hysterical crowd.
