RE: (TV) Size limit?/Check with Philip & J. Hartley

Brian,

Was the long TV article in the form of a file attachment, or if it wasn't an attachment to your e-mail, was the format of the electronic version of the article in HTML or "rich text ? If so you may have incurred the wrath of the people who help keep the technical side of the list running smoothly (e.g., Joe Hartley). Since file attachments and HTML have caused major problems and headaches in the past on the list, it's possible that Joe might have set up some sort of net or filter to catch/delete such "problematic" e-mails. I would check with Joe and Philip, first, then if they don't know why your stuff didn't get through: 1) resend it to list; or 2) you could send it to me as a "test", and I could see how its format looks at my end and then maybe resend it. You also might want to go to the MMlist's FAQs section that Philip created.

Another faint possibility is you might have hit the send/reply button in such a way that your e-mail only went to the person on the list whose e-mail you were "replying to". Finally, here's Joe Hartley's individual e-mail address in case he's not reading today's list postings: jh@brainiac.com

Ps: (For better or for worse) I have a history of sending long transcribed Television/TV articles and interviews to the list and have never had a problem with having the e-mail in which they were transcribed not show up. In fact, yesterday (feb. 14),I sent a moderately long a review from 1979 Boston Phoenix of 1st solo TV record that was one of the catalysts for my passion for the music of Television and TV. I assume yesterday's e-mail with review was received by all members of the list[??], and not just to Steve Lippincott whose original e-mail I was partially responding to? Did you get my e-mail and article yesterday, Brian?

Is there some kind of size limit to emails that can make it to the list?
The only reason I ask is that yesterday I transcribed a rather lengthy Tom
Verlaine article and sent it to this (great)list, and it never showed up. I
sent a small one, too, and it also never showed up.
