(TV) Re: TV Digest V1 #351



I find your speculation kinda sweet, actually, but that's because (maybe
unlike most people on this list) I am a big fan of Richard's and not such a
big fan of Tom's.  However, are people saying that Tom didn't play well or
that Richard played very well (and by comparison only did Tom's playing
seems "lackluster")?  Richard's playing has gotten really fierce and
gutsy -- and it looks like Richard has spent a lot of time thinking through
the technical and intellectual aspects of the instrument.

So, can the people who went to ATP clarify whether they thought Tom didn't
play well or they just thought that Tom was fine but Richard's playing was
more memorable?

Also, if people are trying to decide whether to go see the Chicago show --
come on, three of four playing great music isn't bad...
