RE: (TV) Lou Reed Bootlegs

>Is it released on CD? The funny thing about the "nonsense" is that it's cut

up in four tracks (one on each side) with the same length, 16:08 or
something. Except for side D. After 16:08 there is a eternity symbol. The
track has no end, like a loop, it's the best part of the album. I suppose
this only works on vinyl. If it's released on CD, how did they solve that.

Yes, Metal Machine Music is on CD. It was recently "re-mastered" and
re-released with numerous other "collector's item" thrills attached (i.e.
cardboard sleeve, fancy booklet, lame explanation by Lou, etc.). However,
the endless repetition at the end of side D, caused by specially cut groves
which forced the record to repeat itself, was not held over on the CD
transfer. I guess they thought that was a bit much, because I'm sure they
have the technology to do it. The real kicker is that record stores want an
excess of $25 for the damn thing.

Cameron.

"Well, my wife left me, but at least I've still got Metal Machine Music."
