(TV) Lou Reed

I read that bit as a quote in Victor Bockris' biogarphy of Lou, titled
"Transformer: The Lou Reed Story". It was a thoroughly dreadful book.
Bockris brings new meaning to the words "unprofessional" and "biased".
Bockris obviously had/has some problem with Lou and manages to waste 400+
pages explaining that Lou is pretty much evil incarnate. It may have had
something to do with the fact that Lou didn't want to participate in the
process and asked the other VU members to stay away from Bockris. As a
result, Vic got absolutely no current interviews out of anyone.
All in all, a complete and utter waste of time. Sadly, there are not many
other books about Lou Reed out there.

Cameron.

There's a great (funny) piece on MMM in Lester Bangs' "Psychotic
Reactions..." Lou, of course, makes great claims for it as great art,
mumbling on about all the bits of Beethoven etc. hidden away in it that
only the very perceptive (and, presumably, dogs) can hear. What a wag
old Lou is.
