Personal reminiscence (Was RE: (TV) A Manic Night)

What's the "even" about? I'm too musically ignorant to judge for myself, but from a personal memory I was under the impression that "Breakin' in My Heart" is fairly simple musically. For my 21st birthday, some of my friends organized a small surprise party and got a few musicians we were friends or friendly with to play at it. During a break, we put the then-new "Tom Verlaine" LP on the record player, and when "Breakin' ..." came on, the musicians picked up their instruments and started playing along. I seem to remember one of them saying that was easy to do because it was all one chord (or perhaps two).

Incidentally, the guitarist at my party was Bob Bannister, who later had a band in New York called Fire in the Kitchen, and who is now Bibi Farber's brother-in-law.

None of this is to suggest that "Breakin' ..." isn't a great song - I love it, and I know Bob is an admirer of TV as well as RL.
