RE: (TV) motorcycle film

taken from the Santadog site:

DE NAEDE FAERGEN/THEY CAUGHT THE FERRY (1943) Directed by Carl Theodor
Dreyer. 10 minutes. B&W. 35MM.
The Danish government commissioned Dreyer to make this short film during
World War II to call attention to the number of lives being lost needlessly
through careless driving. In Dreyer's hands, what could have been a
pedantic safety film becomes an impressionist tale following a young
couple's race with Death.

--------------------------------------------------

Tom and Jimmy played great "driving music" (pulsating rhythm mixed with
Tom's fleeting solos). Jimmy was doing some nice sound effects on guitar, as
well. The music worked perfectly with the b&w shots of the motorcycle
racing through the Danish countryside. The rhythm of the playing was
perfectly in tune with, not only the rhythm of the action within the scenes,
but the editing of the shots as well. All in all, terrific sense of pacing
and fantastic playing made this film, in my opinion anyway, the best of a
great programme.

Hope this helps. (You need to see it, if you get the chance).
