This is strictly hearsay, but I seem to remember some old press quote of
Verlaine enthusing on the subject of Hendrix's voice-like solo on 'The Wind
Cries Mary'; maybe as being one of the few rock'n'roll records he liked back
in early times, along with '19th Nervous Breakdown'. I don't have the
resources or the ambition to track down the actual quote/unquote tho.
