 I will dig out Never mind... first thing tomorrow! If I4ve still got it... And I don4t love the Jam or anything, I only got two records...they4re alright...
  
 I admit my dislike comes more from the fact that S.P. are constantly played & mentioned & copied ad nauseam than from listening to them. But when I do-it just dosn4t do it for me! I feel that they don4t deserve the attention they get! 
 
 And I thought Television & Patti came before S.P., right ( :-) )?
And Costello and the Eagles, well I don4t know...maybe his next collaboration?
Elvis and Don, anyone?

holy shit, man...i mean yr entitled to yr opinion, but
you think the jam are hot but HATE the pistols?
rotten's a pile of shit these days, but why do i(& why
should you) LOVE the pistols?
rotten's lyrics for one thing...fucking evil
poetry/rants that defined the moment & all its
attendant possibilities/limits.
his voice & phrasing...like nobody else in rock &
roll...more power than dylan at his best.
jones' obvious but killer fusion of johnny thunders &
classic slop-rock ala the faces/stones (tho jones
turned into a thorough jerk), the rhythm section
(meaning matlock/cook) were furious & tight.
& what they meant in their time & place...i mean the
clash were a phenomenal group, but they & nobody you
mentioned (besides costello & he woulda been like the
eagles if it weren't for the pistols' arrival) would
have existed without the SPs.
try & listen again without all the accumulated crap...
