(TV) PIL / JAMC Ritz gigs

Scott,

I wasn't at either the infamous Ritz PIL or the JAMC gig.
But I did attend the PIL Beacon show in 84 and the JAMC Darkland
tour at the New Ritz with Opal as opening band.

Could it be after the infamous PIL show, that the Ritz then started serving beer in cups trather than bottles or are you saying you were at the show and don't remember bottles being thrown at the screen, but rather cups?

Did anybody here actually attend either of these infamous shows?
Really loved Metal Box (aka Second Issue) and Psychocandy.

Henry

I only remember beer served in plastic cups at either Ritz. And only remember PIL at the Beacon. Saw them once in Staten Island though.

Veering off topic here, I was at the infamous "riot" gig at the Ritz when
PIL played behind a screen. The band fully intended to take the screen down
after a few songs, but the audience didn't wait to find out and started
throwing bottles at the screen. Of course some of the bottles fell short and
hit fans that were closest to the stage.
Then the bottlers realized if 1 or 2 people threw bottles at the screen lots
of other people could throw bottles under the screen which was moved by the
first set of bottles. Not a pleasant night.
