Composing and performing music in tunings other than standard
equal temperament, or using scales other than subsets of the
the 12 tones.  [22 words--count 'em]

In other words: tuning your axe by ear to pure intervals or 
playing a lot of bent notes.  This is revolutionary stuff if you 
are an academic composer (unless of course you consider that
all music was played this way before ET was invented). 

The group is tuning@yahoogroups.com. It's a real wank-fest:
perfect illustration of what Zappa was talking about in that
speech.
