Way before the MM List existed-- back around 1986--I 
contemplated about writing a part-fictional, part-fact 
biography of TV.  Never got past page 4 of Chapter 1.

for jury duty?

Answer to question #8: Tom has never voted Republican. He's afraid that
voting will put him on the list for jury duty. That's one reason he got
his driver's license in Nashville. He thinks jurors are recruited from
the New York DMV list. (Realistically, how often are rock musicians
accepted on a jury?) But Leo is exaggerating. There's not enough
intrigue for a book, and Tom doesn't live on the lower west side. Close,
though.
