his mother?

i was in a record store once and heard a live
recording of dylan doing "highlands" -- which of
course caught my attention and i questioned the clerk.
 he told this story:  dylan discussion board, a bunch
of guys going to pains to explain the real meaning of
"blowing in the wind" -- all sorts of allegorical and
symbolic explainations, etc.  

some guy comes on and say, "it was just a kid getting
something of his chest" or some such.  all the other
posters attack him -- "what do you know," etc.

the guy responds, well, i wrote the song.  howls of
e-laughter, everyone attacks him.  and the guys says,
"i'll prove it.  at tomorrow night's show, the encore
will be 'highlands.'""

which it was, and which recording i was listening to.

when asked in an interview whether he used the
internet bob said no -- somewhat paraphrasing -- that
he was afraid some pervert would lead him astray.
