Whether it belongs on the album or not -- and actually, er, it doesn't -- the thing wouldn't get out of my ear for a good week after first listening. Agreed that the words have the feel of scratch lyrics, agreed that the solo sounds like Richard, but the combination of the beat and the leadwork (especially that circling riff toward the end) just hits me in the pleasure centers. It's kind of like "Careful" on uppers.

I agree with the words of Ty Burr's assessment - "a peppy, near-pop gem" - I'd rearranged them slightly to call it "a peppy, pop near-gem"

How about a "near-pap gem puppy"?

Oh, and Keith, re the Globe sending me to Japan, I have enough trouble getting them to send me to Somerville. Cheap sunza they are.
