Sonny was great; his stuff with Pharoah Sanders is hot shit.

Micah mentioned "Ask the Ages" which is a great place to start.  I
don't hear many Verlaine similarities, though - Sonny was a fan of the
Big Sound, filling up large volumes of space.  Tom's work always seemed
much more precise.  Like the difference between a 10 lb. hammer and a
razor-sharp sword.  They both do serious damage in very different ways.

Sonny's most often heard Sunday nights doing the theme for Space Ghost:
Coast to Coast on the Cartoon Network.
