True... PF is rarely rhythm-oriented, except, as you point out,
during the Barrett-era. If there's any period I'd see Verlaine
liking, it's this, but even then I think in 1967 you'd be more
likely to find Tom with a Stones or Yardbirds record than with
PIPER AT THE GATES OF DAWN.
