Still sad about this... I was trying to come up with a latter day equivalent to Quine, and the closest I could come, in terms of versatility and being equally conversant with experimental and traditional playing while maintaining a unique sound of his own... particularly in that "sideman" realm... was Nels Cline.  Whose last name, oddly, would be pronounced "Quine" by Elmer Fudd.
