Here's the easy way. This works with Windows XP by the way.
1. Open your word document. Make it full screen.
2. Press the 'Print Screen' or 'PrtSc' button - usually located on the 
upper right hand side of your keyboard
3. Run the Paint program and select the edit menu.
4. Select 'paste' from the menu. Voila, there's your word doc
5. Save as 'filename'.jpg - you provide the filename.
