Re: (TV) John Peel RIP

No one mentioned that New York lost a radio "legend" too last week. Scott Muni passed away after a long career going back to the Beatles first trip to the states.

Made his mark (at least in my time) on, AT THE TIME, "progressive rock" station WNEW-FM where his friday afternoon "things from england" show introduced me at least to bands that I'd fall in love with, starting with Mott The Hoople, to the Sex Pistols and the Clash.

I don't think it would be too far of a stretch to call him our John Peel.

RIP both

This is truly terrible news indeed. I met him once, 25 years ago when I
was an earnest teenager, interviewing him for a crappy home-made
fanzine. He was a perfect gentleman.
The loss to new independent music will be great - who will fill his
shoes?
