They both come out of the bottle very slow: Verlaine in releasing music
and publishing poetry.

Re: the recent Odd Verlaine Interview: TV a good example of
self-educated man.

A quote from a famous movie fits him well.
G.A.:
"Undisciplined, unpunctual, untidy. Several languages. Knowledge of Music,
Literature, knowledge of ....., knowledge of ..., You're an interesting man.

There's no doubt about it."
"Who told you to take A__?"

Verlaine:
"It's nice to get good reviews and it's interesting to get reviews that are
so bad they're good. Some good reviews are so off the wall that they're
funny
and some bad ones are the same way, ... Seriously, the good reviews and the
bad reviews both seem like the reviewers express their own personalities
more
than they express any general truth about the group - which is fine in a
way."

His distaste for 'academically'-taught poets was intriguing.
