well, popular music isn't worth much interest anymore.
i mean earlier on in rock and roll, to be excited
about what was on the radio was really something. but
mass music has just been totally hijacked by
corporations now. to borrow from the saying "never
trust a person over 30" -- i just cannot trust any
music that has any sort of popular buzz, much less
real radio play.

coming into work this morning i was listening to radio
talk about the "buzz" bands of this year's austin city
limits music festival, which is next weekend. last
year the "breakout" was franz ferdinand, before that
los lonely boys (and if you live outside of austin you
probably didn't hear about the dope-and-rape charges
against their drummer). and i just don't have any
interest or enthusiasm in any of these type of pop
acts, even the ones who are supposed to be "better
than the rest."

but i'm over 30 now, maybe not worth considering my
thoughts.
