Re: (TV) Rare TV Show now on Dime

Too good to be true! Didn't know a recording existed of this legendary show. Long live the internet.

The great audience response here proves that there was a Television.hysteria in Sweden. (Richard remembers they were treated like the Beatles.) I remember one of the reviews of the show : "the guitar solos are like a never ending orgasm..." or something like that. That article was one of the reasons I became interested in the band.

If I had heard MM earlier I may have tried to get a ticket for this show. 14 years old I had just attended my first real rock concert a month earlier. I'm ashamed to admit it, but it was Rush. My best friend liked them so he wanted me to join him. Everyone but me was hard-rock fans. Luckily another friend (a big BOC fan) bought MM as a venture and he also joined me to see Dr Feelgood. One of my best concert memories.

One thing that puzzles me about the tape is the requests from the audience for both Knockin on Heavens Door and Satisfaction. How could they know the band was playing these songs? (They didn't have the information paths as we have now. Now you can download a show from the beginning of a tour and sometimes also get familiar with a band's unreleased stuff. Good or bad? The thrill will go away at the "live moment", for sure.) A theory could be that people was reading English music papers like NME and MM. I bought them from time to time.

Maybe I'm a little biased and patriotic here, but I can really recommend this show. The band is hot and the sound is quite ok too.
