Re: (TV) OT: My ipod mix

Heavy rotation on the iPod is the new Motian/Frisell/Lovano disc. The Apostle of Hustle's first CD and -lord a'mighty - "Bitches Brew" Damn.

I don't actually have an iPod, but here's what's been in heavy rotation
of late:

Terry Riley: 10 pm November 1967, from _You're Nogood_ (soprano
saxophone through the tape feedback system later adopted by Brian Eno
and Robert Fripp)

Ali Akbar Khan: _The 80 Minute Raga_ (Sarod, tabla, and tambura; excellent)

Mohammad Rahim Khushnawaz: _Afghanistan - Le rubbb de Hirat_ (Solo rubab
playing...though some tracks have percussion. The rubab is the Afghani
ancestor of the Indian sarod.)

Bahram Mansurov: _Azerbaijani Mugam - Modal Music and Improvisation Vol.
9_ (The instrument here is solo tar, a seven-string ancestor of the
guitar, of course.)

Toumani Diabate: _Kaira_ (the kora, a 21-string harp)
