(TV) rock in NYC for school class?

A friend of mine works as a teacher. He will bring a music schoolclass (17-18
year old kids) to NYC later this spring. Do anyone of you living there have
any recommendations for activities if you are young and like rock music? Are
there any clubs where kids at that age will get in? If you have other
suggestions, it's appreciated.
