you know i did have something i meant to share here. i believe i learned about death (the detroit band) and their belated cd release from this list. i love the disc, and got to see them play (one of only four gigs they've done) at fun fun fun fest here in austin last month. a local website did a great interview with david hackney in conjunction with the appearance:

it's a great, long, detailed interview, that some folks here might be interested in.
the set was short, but sweet. a large and very receptive audience packed around the stage. lots of people knew the words to the songs, and sang along. and a little mosh pit started up. all in all i think they band must have gotten some good feelings from a very warm reception.

and for dennis -- i was in nyc over labor day weekend and was very sad to see ODM had closed it's doors. ever since going there with you, i always made it a point of stopping by whenever i was in town. and how are your eyes? i think you were having surgery the weekend i was there.
