Maybe I have answered my own question. I have re-listened to a few NMH
cuts and I recognize that Jeff Mangum is a good songwriter/lyricist. I
just don't like the arrangements of some of the songs. "Aeroplane over
the sea" is an example. The horn solo is atrocious ,but the song
itself is beautiful. It should just be an acoustic guitar song. No
band. Just like most of the other songs.
