he didn't cover quine.  he actually said that in preparing for this, he
found the "best-written" parts of the book were the most sordid ones...so he
read those.  they were pretty sordid.  but yes, self-deprecating.  he seems
healthy and balanced.  i think it will be a valuable book.
 
did mention anya phillips a few times, cookie mueller, kathy acker.  those are
the ones that stand out...
 
i will work on getting the tape from my phone to an upload site.  will post

Thanks for this, I really look forward to this book.  It's the account of
the early years that I might actually lay some stock in... Hell certainly is
self-deprecating enough that I can take his warts-and-all account of all the
players as sincere.

He must've talked about Quine a bit, no?  Actually, I think I might well
want that recording of the reading for drivetime listening... no pressure,
though.
