(TV) Alex Weir vs Jerry Harrison

Hi Rex,

RE: there are a few songs where I'm a bit stuck on what the second
guitar is doing, and occasionally sorting out the Jerry Harrison bits from
the Alex Weir ones.

I could be wrong but I believe the only album that Weir played on (or at
least receives credits for) is 1983 "Speaking in Tongues"; so, maybe it's
'just' Garrison over-dubbing/multi-tracking[?]

RE: I'm sure some of y'all find the Heads insufferable, ..

I can only take Byrne's vocals in small doses. Favorite song of Heads':
"No Compassion" [from very 1st album] not sure if that's Harrison or Byrne
playing the killer guitar lines. Anybody know?

(By the way Jerry Harrison was one of the original guitarists/keyboards on
Jonathan Richman's Modern Lover's when they used to play at the Cambridge
YMCA in Central Sq. in the winter of 1970 (& Cambridge Common in summer.)

..............................................................

I've been sitting on this for a while, but I've been recruited as the second
guitarist for a Talking Heads tribute band, specifically performing the Stop
Making Sense show front to back. It's been pretty fun, although I've spent
most of the prep time teaching my friend the bass parts so she can be Tina
Weymouth...

Anyway, there are a few songs where I'm a bit stuck on what the second
guitar is doing, and occasionally sorting out the Jerry Harrison bits from
the Alex Weir ones. Resources online are pretty slim. Anyone feel like
lending an ear for me, offlist?

I'm sure some of y'all find the Heads insufferable, and if so, just pretend
this never happened.

Thanks!
Rex

Yes, but those are good.

Looking at my file, I'd totally forgotten I did a tossoff version of
Breakin' in My Heart with my band as well. It was that memorable!

It's here:

And Evil:

Perhaps most bizarrely, my cover of Tom's cover of Kristoferson's The Hawk,
included as part of Keith's covers package above...

And a little Hell for y'all..

All part of my batshit crazy 39-40 project a few years back... some of you
will remember, the rest probably really don't want to know...
