Re: (TV) CBGB movie

Jay --

I regret to say I didn't review that one. I hear it's fantastic, no matter what you think of the digital desecration of the classics. I had enough trauma with the winged monkeys on our old Zenith black and white in the early 60s -- I don't think I could handle them in 3D IMAX.

The distributor, XLrator, is one I've never heard of (and I've heard of most of them), and from their website (www.xlratormedia.com) it looks like they're mostly in the business of "multi-platform", i.e. direct-to-on-demand, releasing with a little bit of theatrical on the side. Plus, my editors keep a full list of movies opening theatrically from now into early 2014, and this isn't on it. So don't hold your breath. It looks like the movie's playing exclusively in the states on DirectTV -- satellite only -- so who knows if it will show up on the usual on-demand pipelines (Comcast, Verizon, etc). I imagine it'll arrive on Netflix and iTunes in due course.
