(TV) Your Offer / $ to You / Time You Go-on Stage? / Note to MM List: Morristown , NJ!!

Hi Dennis,

Sorry for the length of this response. Thank you for your kind offer. I
also need a ticket for my girlfriend.

I would be happy to pay for both tickets, and happy to give you the $12 per
ticket service fee (I just don't want, as a matter of principle, for the
mega-corporation who keeps changing its name (formerly Clear-Channel?) to
pocket the $12 per).

If your offer still goes, you could, if you'd prefer, write me off-list
about whether you can buy me two tickets. Don't want to complicate matters,
but if you can't get two please let me know, as I'd have to buy them on-line
relatively soon since I am really worried about a sell-out at Irving Plaza.
(I was surprised yesterday that there were still tickets available for
sale.) You could also give me some suggestions on how I could send/give you
money [Paypal?, cash?, Visa? Other?].

Since 1981, I have always joked with my friends that one of the bonuses
about TV shows or Television shows, was I never had to worry about them
selling out. Many times, I'd arrive at The Ritz (or The Academy/Irving
Plaza) about 90 minutes before show-time and just pay cash at their
box-office.

But given Television are playing only a single! show in NYC, and given they
sold out in Boston in May, I think not buying tickets ahead of time would
be foolish.

There's a further complication, my girlfriend grew up in Morristown, NJ
(where TV was born), and we'll be staying there after the show at her
father's house. Unfortunately, because the show is on a Sunday night, the
last commuter train out of Penn Sta[?] is at 11:19pm. I'd sooner cut off my
left arm than leave a Television show before it is over. The Irving Plaza
web-page says the show starts at 8pm (someone named Dennis Driscoll :>) ),
and Television comes on at 9pm. Dennis, do you have any idea approximately
what time your performance/reading will start? I usually never believe the
times rock clubs give-out.

Leo

PS: To others on the MM List: I may have written some crazy things here over
the years, but the Morristown comment above is the god-honest truth.

I could probably pick up a ticket for you Leo. I actually might have an
extra ticket I bought before I was hired to do the show, but I'm not sure
yet.

Would I be correct that there is no way to avoid the $12 surcharge per
ticket for the Television show on Dec. 28, except to come down from Boston
in-person to the Irving Plaza box office (weeks) before the show? S

Leo
