RE: Verlaine's COVER getting an expanded reissue / & New live Recording

I meant to post this a couple of days ago to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the Normandy Invasion (i. e., June 6, 1944, D-Day):

On the May 2018 cd re-release by the Wounded Bird label of the album “Cover”, which has the very long EP version of ‘5 Miles Of You’ (5:35), and bonus of ‘Lindi-Lu’ and ‘Your Finest Hour’, there is no indication anywhere in liner notes or anything written on the cd’s jewel box or on the cd itself, that this is a remastered cd from the 1989 original CD (UK) Virgin CDV 2314.

Also: for those not yet ‘sick to death’ of another live recording of the band performing the songs from the album Marquee Moon, there is presently on DIME/BitTorrent a  recording of Television:  Television 2016-09-06 930 Club, Washington DC audM.AT-822.Sony PCM-M10 A- flac16.torrent

Subject: Verlaine's COVER getting an expanded reissue

COVER is getting a long overdue US CD release, and someone finally has had the good sense to restore "Lindi Lu" to the running order and round-up the various b-sides this time, too.

"Cover" was originally released in 1984. This has only been available on CD as an expensive European import containing flaws and omissions. We fixed the flaw the European import had on "Five Miles Of You" so that it isn't cut off at the end and also added "Lindi-Lu", which was missing. Our CD features the original American track listing and sequence, and adds 2 bonus tracks, "Your Finest Hour" and "Five Miles Of You (extended version)."

(All of this material is available on CD already - between the import COVER CD and THE MILLER'S TALE - I wonder if that will be the source for these tracks, or if they've really gone back to the tapes...?)

COVER was one of the first Verlaine solo LPs I heard (maybe the very first) but hardly my favorite. In fact, it's probably been a decade since I've listened to the entire LP - this will be a great excuse to revisit it.

Only $9.99 right now on Amazon for pre-order...
