RE: (TV) Verlaine in Portland Oregon

i saw em.
very cool tho subdued....i'd seen most of the films previously & since i
hadn't seen verlaine play electric in over a decade, i took a seat right up
front stage left with a decent view of verlaine & ripp.
for the most part, the playing was in synch with the movies, like a 3-d
score.
ripp did basic noises & rhythmic bottom, verlaine added melody, dramatic
doodles, etc.
what eventually amazed was that tho verlaine had obviously charted all of
this out as composition, the 2 ultimately riffed off one another (tho not in
a rock & roll format), improvising & even fucking up occasionally.
the last piece (set to leger's "ballet mechanique") was absolutely
gorgeous...verlaine let loose with a volley of tumbling
ascensions/descensions, increasing in intensity & volume.
classic.
& beautiful.
the crowd was awfully staid...it was a PICA (portland institute of
contemporary arts blahblahblah) show...for portland residents, nuff said.
& i'm sure the rest of you can guess what that means...harrumphing hipster
"aesthetes" with cash to fart.
verlaine was standoffish as usual...said maybe 4 words the entire
show...ripp much more genial.
all in all, very satisfying & kinda enlightening....tho definitely triggered
an appetite for loud rock & roll verlaine.

Did anyone catch Verlaine's film score shows in Portland, Oregon this
December?
I heard no mention at all of the shows.
Anyone got any on-line reviews of it? did the show even take place?
