Re: (TV) OT: Chet Baker DD

I've been avoiding that book. I don't want to have another experience like I had with the Jackson Pollack bio, where all the late chapters seem to end with the same damn sentence.

"...and then he began to drink."

I am not sure I could even sit through the documentary "Let's Get Lost." Like you said "train wreck."

Recent kicks:
Herbie Nichols, Monk, Coltrane ("One Up, One Down"), Bud Powell, David Murry.

of his life bio called "Deep in a Dream" (

of a musician but if you have any interest at all about Chet Baker, his
music, his sad , deplorable life - this is the book.
There are video of him playing , too, up on YouTube.com . Curiously, I
am just about to finish this book on his death-day, May 13 . ( He died
May 13, 1988 in Amsterdam ).
