Re: (TV) LAUGHNER

Tell me about egos. I had more problems with whatever the owners name is
again. Thor L. let's say. He would continously bounce checks on me, order
CD's
then not pay for them so that I'd end up selling them at cost, hold CD's for
weeks at a time and then not take them because he couldn't afford them. All
he had to say was business is not that good I can't order anything. But his
ego would not allow this kind of admittance. He supposedly had a great deal
worked out with Capitol Records, Polygram records and blew them both. What a
shame
because they were heading in the right direction. Especially when they did
the
Curt Kobain & William Burroughs "The Priest They Call Him". I can imagiine
that they
sold well over 100,000 copies of a recording that probably cost no mmore
than $1,000
if that to make. I can't say that I'll miss them, they were putting out real
drivel
toward the end. And I'm sure luck was not on theuir side either as the whole

Alternative market withered and died so too it's alternative/indie labels
went too.
Can the demise of Matador be far behind as they grope at straws trying to
sign and
promote new Rap artists. A case of too little too late. It's a bit scary,
but who knows
where music will take us next now that R & R has pretty much fallen off the
charts
with Pop music flooding the airwaves. It's 1962 all over again, but can R &
R make
another strong come back after such a blow? M T C
