Geez, this mailing list has turned into a quickie-money making fantasy land
in the past day.  There is nothing all that strange about the increase in
the guitar price, there are a lot of collectors out there and the fact that
it's the only guitar that Tom Verlaine ever put out on auction (isn't it?)
makes it a rare collector item, which will be worth a lot more if Tom
Verlaine ever dies (which will happen at some point) or if he does
eventually makes the soundtrack of a movie with that "thing" also known as
Julia Roberts.

Since we were also talking about Bob Quine, I noticed on the new Lloyd Cole
site that Bob Quine played on both of the yet-unreleased Lloyd Cole albums,
"etc." and "The Negatives": www.lloydcole.com.

I truly hope that the guitar reaches six-figures, then I wouldn't be so
pissed off at last year's Eric Clapton guitar auction.
