_Basic_ *is* really good. It's interesting to compare it to _Escape_, which Quine did with Jody Harris (Raybeats, Contortions, various Lydia Lunch projects). I know at least one person on the list found the drum machine on _Basic_ annoying--but that's nothing compared to the one on _Escape_! _Escape_ also has an apparently amazing guitar-duel track...that plays at double-speed. On 33. You'd need a transcription player at 16 to hear it right. (Anyone know the story behind this? Pretty perverse.)

Top tunes on _Basic_ for me--"Pickup," "Fala," "Summer Storm" and "Bluffer" (some serious guitar on that one!)
