LIFE'S RICH PAGEANT is also my favorite REM album - and maybe it's the
association with my freshman year of college, but I've always loved much of
AUTOMATIC FOR THE PEOPLE, esp. "Nightswimming" and "Find the River". I can't
argue that it's sort of AOR "cack" though.

Other favorites: MURMUR and DOCUMENT. And about 1/2 of MONSTER was great, I
thought, but very few people agreed. I *really* enjoyed NEW ADVENTURES, maybe
more than it deserved. Haven't bought UP yet.

BTW, the history major in me can't resist pointing out that PT Barnum didn't
actually say "there's a sucker born every minute" - it was said by his rival
and has been misattributed ever since! A brief version of the story can be
