Like you I love Neil's electric stuff.  Country music for me has the same
impact that chalk squawking on blackboards or dentist drill have of some
folks.  It really grates.  I therefore have real problems getting into Neils
country stuff.

But I will listen to his electric / Crazy Horse / Pearl Jam  / etc / etc
things anytime.  One of  my favourite NY albumis the soundtrack he did for
Jim Jamusch's Dead Man.  It is very loose but evokes wonderful images.  It
also shows that soundtracks do not have to be boring elevator muzak.  Every
time I listen to it these days,  I think of the soundtracks Tom did and how
much I would love to hear those.
