(TV) Patti Smith out, the Eagles in

I have a video tape of one of the early induction ceremonies when Bruce
Springsteen inducted Bob Dylan and Mick Jagger inducted the Beatles, among
many others.  Man what an awesome video tape and the jam at the end was just
incredible.  Even with everyone dressed up and on their best behavior it was
rock and frigging roll.  Now the Eagles (certainly among others I just
despise them the most) are in with no credentials besides sales and
longetivity while Patti Smith, arguably one of the most influential artists
left uninducted (or period, depending on your point of view) isn't in.  And
while you can say the same thing about TV I think that three records in 30
odd years probably won't merit their inclusion.  That place sucks now, as
Neil Young would also tell you, and I urge everyone to write them and tell
them the same thing, as I have.
