Re: (TV) Odd Fenders

Hey, guys! Let's discuss music instead of nuclear conflicts!

Russ Van Roy was brave and mentioned the guitars of Eagles. (And there has been a lot of talking about Neil Y. In my opinion no big similarities to TV, but at least NY has a very personal guitarstyle.) I will take a big risk now, but I don't think you will yell that much on me as on Russ. On german satellite channel WDR they show old (and new) live-rock every Saturday night. A year ago or so they showed an old concert with Moon Martin. Yes, I know, it's just simple pop, but these guitars were really something. I was totally knocked. A little of the same "naive" Lou Reed-style, LOUD solos and only a few tones. Don't know if there has been any other well known artists playing these shortlived Fender Lead I and Fender Lead II issues, but these guys really knew how to use them. I think Moon Martin released an album called Street Fever or something with one of these guitarheads on the cover. (One can suspect a pretty big sponsorcontract.) I think Moon Martin himself used the Lead I, the one with the humbucker. They didn't have much in common with TV, except for the label Fender and the fact they had a lot of class. (Hope this didn't disturb too many of you.)

Perhaps "Europe" (as those living there refer to it) will once again be
referred to as "The Proposed Theater of Limited Thermonuclear Conflict?"
(with apologies to Alan Moore)
