wordplay.

I'm a new member of this group -- just
want to relate that I'm having a great
time reading all the gems that've popped
up this wk.  Some good sharing goes on here.
Unlike some of the other groups I've joined,
this one has a good vibe.

One last thing, then I'll split -- I first came
across TV in a magazine that was largely devoted
to The Beatles.  This was back in '78.  Being a 
Beatles nut, I would consume anything in print that
I could get my hands on.  Anyway, a section of the mag
was a nice history of the NY scene (from Velvets to 
TV and PSG).  I didn't know what to think -- one minute
I'd be reading the lyrics to SHE LOVES ME, then I'd furtively
flip back to that section to look at PLEASE KILL ME t-shirt
photo of Richard Hell.  It was like the first time I got my
hands on my stepfather's Hustlers.  And like that, it took me
several years to actually get some cojones and make the first 
move.  Bought MARQUEE MOON in '88, the same year I dropped out
of school, joined the Army and then backed out two wks before
boot camp.  Haven't been the same since.
