Yeah Keith , the City Hall is still going , although most of the bands that
play there now tend to be comfortable mid table chart bands like Texas and
Semisonic and rubbish like that . Very few legends or legends to be make it
to the City Hall . I always find it a beautiful and warm venue to go to . I
like it a lot .

The Mayfair , however , is no more . It was criminally closed last year and
bulldozed to make way for some faceless new shopping mall or carpark or
something . I'll never forget when they first started knocking down the
buildings around it and you could see into the hole where is was and you
could still see the bar and the dancefloor around all this rubble . You
could see into the toilets as well - bizarre and sad . ( The Mayfair was
sorta underground for anyone who has no idea what I'm talking about ) . The
Mayfair would have been a perfect venue to see Television .

Yeah Newcastle's gone right down hill recently in terms of venues . Even The
(legendary) Riverside is now a sodding nightclub called The Warehouse .

Keep your memories safe Keith , they're few and far between now .
